Cody Curtiss
Cody is an accomplished athlete who has been on the mat for six years. He has wrestled on the Varsity team since his freshman year where in his first year he tied the school record for most tech falls in a season. In 2007/08, Cody placed 5th and set history for CHS as well as Frisco ISD as the first underclassmen to place at State. He continued his winning streak with a 4th place finish at State last year.  Cody is a 2x District Champion and holds titles as Region Champion and Region Runner-up. He has been awarded the “Rookie of the Year Award” (‘06/’07) and the coveted “Most Outstanding Wrestler Award” (‘08/’09) for the Titan team.

This talented student athlete is also a member of the National Honor Society and ranks in the top 15% of his class. Cody has a younger brother, Will who is following in his wrestling footsteps, and a younger sister, Caroline who is a freshman volleyball player at Centennial. An engineer at heart, Cody can always be found building his latest project, taking apart something to see how it works, or going really fast on his dirt bike. Somewhat of an adrenaline junkie, he does find time to play his guitar and listen to music! Next fall Cody will head off to an engineering college where he plans to wrestle. We wish him continued success!

Phillip Obenshain

Phillip started wrestling in his freshman year and has crammed a lot of mat time into his career with year round wrestling, camps, clinics, and regular workouts with Dallas Dynamite. After a freshman year on JV he moved to the Varsity team where he earned the “Most Improved Wrestler Award” his sophomore year. Along with the award Brent Holtrop, holder of a long list of records at CHS, presented Phillip with his prized wrestling shoes! Phillip is a 2x District Runner-up, 2x Region Placer, and 2x State Alternate. He also holds the title for Greco State Champion and FreeStyle Runner-up for the 2009 season.

As a lettered athlete, Phillip maintains an A/B average while taking an advanced course load. He has qualified for the National Honor Society and enjoys Ag classes as electives. Ever the “cowboy” he enjoys country music and hanging out with his older brother, Stephen, on the ranch. His younger brother, Daniel, is also a member of the wrestling team. Occasionally the cynic, House is his favorite TV show followed closely by UFC. Phillip plans to attend college in the fall and pursue a degree in International Business.

Ryan Garner
This past season brought Ryan great success as he accomplished his goal of qualifying for State. His work ethic, reflected in his wrestling accomplishments and his academic excellence, is a fine example for any student athlete to emulate. Ryan has been wrestling for four years – all of which have been on the Varsity team. He is a 2x Runner-up at Districts and last year he took 4th at Regions. He was recognized with “The Most Improved Wrestler Award” for all his efforts and achievements.

Ryan has a true volunteer spirit and has devoted many hours to working with the Frisco Bombers/Team Titan youth and middle school wrestling teams. He has lettered in both athletics and in academics, and ranks in the top ten of his class. His large family is always there to cheer him on and support him! Ryan has four sisters, Ashley, Kendyl, Allison, and Lindy. He also has three brothers, Taylor, who also wrestles at Centennial, Anthony, and Cameron. Dad, Ken and stepmom Diane along with Mom, Cindy and stepdad Tim are his biggest fans.

This country music fan is also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a member of the National Honor Society, and is active in his church youth group. Ryan enjoys watching UFC and is trying to decide between a career in engineering or the medical field. He hopes to wrestle in college next year. One thing he has proved – once he sets his goal expect nothing less than excellence!
